Located in the central western part of the state, Albuquerque is the most densely populated city in all of New Mexico. Nicknamed “The Duke City” and “Burque” in honor of its Spanish history, Albuquerque is culturally diverse and rife with history as well as a vivacious city life. Coupled with its painterly vistas, year-round nice weather, and incredible food, it is easy to see why so many have chosen to call this city home.
Albuquerque—along with the rest of Bernalillo County has—been designated by the EPA as being in Radon Zone 1. While no level of indoor radon is truly safe, this zone designation indicates the highest potential for indoor radon for commercial and residential properties. As such, if you are planning on purchasing a home or setting up shop in Albuquerque, it is extremely important you have your property tested and treated for radon.
